We teach you! Our public workshop series is designed for parents to get started or improve their skills in video production and family-friendly web use. These workshops are also all available in your home.

Workshops include:
Shooting 101 – This class will cover techniques to get better shots of your little ones as they scamper and grin. In addition to the basics of lighting and framing, we will discuss specific strategies to effectively tape children. We will also look at ways to organize and archive your footage so it doesn’t get lost or, umm, taped over. We encourage participants to bring their own video cameras so they can learn on what they will be using.
Editing 101 – You mean not everyone wants to watch hours of baby’s first steps? Come bring your favorite shots and you will leave the workshop with a one to two minute final piece. We will also cover distribution options including DVD, email, and the web. This workshop will be cross-platform so that all can learn to edit on their own computer with the software of their choice. Please bring your laptop, or rent one from us.
Social Media for Families: Privacy and Safety Tips for Facebook, MySpace, and beyond - Worried about who can see those family photos online? Sites like Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, and are becoming increasingly popular for family use. Millions are actively connecting but many don’t know how to guard their personal information. Learn the ins and outs of exactly HOW to use privacy settings, ways to teach your kids how to be safe online, and common missteps people make using social networking sites in this interactive workshop.
Blogging for Beginners - This introductory workshop will help get you started on your mama or papa blog. Experienced local bloggers will help you set realistic goals, introduce software options, explain how to upload photos and video to your site.
